Telangana invites US firms to invest in aerospace and defence, highlighting rapid growth, MSME strength, and Hyderabad’s global competitiveness.

Telangana is stepping up efforts to attract global investment, with Industries Minister D. Sridhar Babu inviting American companies to explore opportunities in the state’s fast-growing aerospace, defence and space sectors.

The outreach came during a meeting with a delegation from the US National War College in Hyderabad, where the minister outlined Telangana’s ambition to emerge as a global hub for advanced manufacturing and strategic technologies.

Sridhar Babu highlighted strong growth trends in the sector, pointing to consistent expansion and rising exports in recent years. He emphasised that the state is actively encouraging partnerships with international firms, universities and research institutions in areas such as artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, space systems and advanced engineering.

He noted that Telangana is building a comprehensive ecosystem spanning drones, defence electronics and aerospace components, while also strengthening capabilities in emerging technologies. The presence of major global players, along with a network of over 1,500 MSMEs, has contributed significantly to this momentum, he said.

The minister also underlined Hyderabad’s growing reputation as a cost-effective destination for aerospace investments and its recognition at the national level for sectoral excellence.

The push reflects Telangana’s broader strategy to position itself in high-value manufacturing and technology-driven industries. For local businesses and startups, increased foreign collaboration could open up new supply chain opportunities and boost innovation, while also enhancing employment prospects in specialised sectors.
