Telangana to Disburse Cheques, Mopeds to Minorities Under Welfare Schemes on Feb 18
Telangana Minorities Finance Corporation will distribute financial assistance, mopeds and e-scooters in Hyderabad under Indiramma Minority Mahila Yojana and other empowerment schemes.
The Telangana government is set to roll out financial assistance and asset support to minority beneficiaries at a public event in Hyderabad on February 18. The distribution drive will take place at Red Rose Palace in Nampally under the supervision of the Telangana Minorities Finance Corporation.
As part of the initiative, eligible minority women will receive cheques of up to ₹50,000 under the Indiramma Minority Mahila Yojana. In addition, mopeds and e-scooters will be handed over to selected beneficiaries to support livelihood activities and mobility.
Officials said e-scooters priced at ₹1.5 lakh will be provided to youth, with the state government bearing 80 per cent of the cost. Beneficiaries are required to contribute the remaining 20 per cent, amounting to ₹30,000. Members of the Turka Kasha community will also receive tool kits and generators, with assistance capped at ₹60,000 as a one-time grant.
Alongside asset distribution, the government plans to initiate skill development programmes aimed at enhancing employment prospects among minority youth. Sewing machines will also be distributed to women under the Indiramma Minority Mahila Shakti scheme.
Such targeted welfare measures aim to promote self-employment and economic participation. However, sustained impact will depend on follow-up support, training quality and market linkages to ensure that beneficiaries can convert assets into stable income opportunities.
