Telangana Sets Innovation Roadmap at BITS Global Alumni Meet 2026
At the BITS Pilani–Hyderabad alumni meet, Telangana outlined its plan to become a global innovation hub powered by AI, ethical tech, and research-driven growth.
At the BITS Alumni Association Global Meet 2026 held at the BITS Pilani–Hyderabad campus, Telangana’s ambition to become a world-class Innovation Capital took centre stage. Leaders and experts highlighted how artificial intelligence, research-driven development and the responsible use of technology can place the state at the forefront of global innovation.
Speakers stressed that technology must go beyond academic degrees and deliver real-world impact, especially in areas that support national priorities such as Atmanirbhar Bharat. Telangana’s AI-enabled Telangana Data Exchange (TGDeX) and India’s growing Digital Public Infrastructure were cited as strong foundations for this next phase of growth.
A recurring theme was that ethics, data protection and public trust will be as important as algorithms and hardware in the AI era. Without strong safeguards and transparent systems, even the most advanced technologies risk losing public confidence.
The meet also underlined the need to ensure that AI reaches rural India, especially in agriculture, education and healthcare. For Telangana, this aligns with the broader “Telangana Rising” vision, which aims to blend high-tech innovation with inclusive development, turning local solutions into models for the country and beyond.
