Telangana CM Revanth Reddy unveils plan to transform Hyderabad’s core urban area into a global city with focus on schools, healthcare, sanitation, and traffic solutions.

Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has announced that Hyderabad’s core urban region will be developed as a model global city. He directed officials to give priority to education, healthcare, sanitation, transport, and public health, ensuring improvements go beyond “cosmetic beautification.”

The CM said schools will be consolidated into modern campuses, with free meals and transport to reduce parents’ financial burden. On healthcare, he called for special clinics to serve the poor, while sanitation reforms will be strictly enforced to make Hyderabad a “Clean City.”

Government offices will shift from rented spaces to their own buildings, powered by solar energy. Plans also include traffic reforms using advanced signals, Google tie-ups, and drone monitoring.

Observers note that while the vision is ambitious, success will depend on strict execution, coordination between departments, and ensuring benefits reach middle-class and poorer families, not just high-profile urban zones.
