Telangana Governor, CM Revanth Reddy, and political leaders pay tribute to Mahatma Gandhi at Bapu Ghat, recalling his enduring ideals of truth and non-violence.
Hyderabad marked Mahatma Gandhi’s birth anniversary with solemn tributes as leaders across parties gathered at Bapu Ghat on the banks of the Musi River. Governor Jishnu Dev Varma and Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy led the homage by offering floral respects to the Father of the Nation.
An interfaith prayer meeting was also held, underscoring Gandhi’s philosophy of unity and harmony. Leaders from different parties, including BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao and Telangana BJP president N. Ramchander Rao, remembered Gandhi’s ideals of truth, non-violence, and perseverance.
KTR noted that Gandhi’s values had also shaped the Telangana movement, while Rao recalled his role in inspiring generations through satyagraha. Beyond the political statements, the occasion reflected how Gandhi’s message remains relevant in today’s fractured social climate. For citizens, such observances serve as a reminder that civic unity and moral courage are still vital in tackling modern challenges.
