Telangana HC Reserves Verdict on KCR, KTR, Harish Rao Pleas in Million March Case
Telangana High Court defers ruling on petitions by KCR, KTR and Harish Rao seeking to quash cases linked to the 2011 Million March protest.
The Telangana High Court has reserved its judgment on petitions filed by K. Chandrashekar Rao, K. T. Rama Rao and T. Harish Rao seeking to quash criminal cases linked to the 2011 Million March during the Telangana statehood movement.
Justice K. Sujana, after hearing detailed arguments from both sides, deferred the verdict, keeping the matter pending for a later date.
Counsel representing the petitioners argued that there is no material evidence placing the leaders at the protest site. It was also contended that complainants did not identify them during the investigation, raising questions over the basis of the cases.
On the other hand, the prosecution maintained that the investigation into the incident had been completed and charge sheets were filed against several individuals. However, it acknowledged before the court that no charge sheets have been filed against the three leaders in this specific matter so far, adding that the full picture would emerge through the legal process.
The case, rooted in a key phase of the Telangana movement, continues to carry political and legal significance. Its outcome could shape how accountability is interpreted in mass protest cases, especially those involving senior political figures.
