Telangana Haj Committee Prepares for May 4 Departures, 6,660 Pilgrims to Fly from Hyderabad
Telangana Haj Committee readies facilities for 6,660 pilgrims departing from Hyderabad starting May 4, introduces new 25–30 day Haj package.
The Telangana Haj Committee has stepped up preparations for the annual pilgrimage, with departures from Hyderabad scheduled to begin on May 4.
Around 6,660 pilgrims from the state are expected to travel this year via Rajiv Gandhi International Airport, with additional applicants on the waiting list likely to be accommodated if slots open up.
Officials said comprehensive arrangements are being put in place at the Haj House, including transit accommodation, baggage processing, medical screening, vaccination and transport to the airport. A round-the-clock control room will also operate to assist pilgrims throughout the process.
This year, authorities have introduced a revised travel plan spanning approximately 25 to 30 days. Pilgrims are expected to spend the majority of their time in Mecca, followed by a shorter stay in Madinah. The main batch of flights under this schedule is planned for mid-May, with return journeys set for mid-June.
The initiative reflects an effort to streamline logistics and improve the overall experience for pilgrims. For families, early preparation—especially documentation and health checks can help avoid last-minute stress, while coordinated facilities aim to ensure a smoother journey for first-time travellers.
