Telangana Govt Disburses ₹250 Crore More Under Indiramma Housing Scheme
The Telangana government has released ₹252.87 crore to over 22,000 beneficiaries under the Indiramma housing scheme, taking total spending to ₹2,233 crore this year.
The Telangana government has sanctioned another major installment under its flagship Indiramma housing scheme, releasing ₹252.87 crore to 22,305 beneficiaries this week. The funds, credited directly to the beneficiaries’ accounts, mark a continued push to accelerate ongoing housing projects across the state.
According to Telangana Housing Corporation MD and Special Secretary V.P. Gautham, the amount was distributed based on the progress of construction at different stages. The latest release brings the total expenditure for 2025 to ₹2,233.21 crore, signaling steady progress in one of the government’s key welfare initiatives.
Official data shows that funds were sanctioned for 1,43,963 houses at the basement stage, 46,206 at the roofing stage, and 16,576 houses that have completed slab work. Across Telangana, nearly 2.18 lakh homes are in various phases of construction.
Last month alone, the state had disbursed over ₹1,600 crore, highlighting the administration’s focus on speeding up construction timelines. “Work under the Indiramma scheme is advancing rapidly,” the official release stated.
Analysis:
The consistent flow of funds under Indiramma reflects the government’s intent to maintain momentum in housing development—an area with both social and political impact. For low-income families, direct credit transfers have reduced middlemen delays, making the scheme more transparent. However, timely completion and quality control remain key to ensuring that rapid construction doesn’t compromise the sustainability of these homes.
