Hyderabad: In a move aimed at easing the financial stress of small builders, the Telangana Finance Department has sanctioned ₹100 crore to clear long-pending bills of contractors who had undertaken state development works valued below ₹10 lakh.

The funds, primarily meant for contractors engaged in road and bridge construction and repair, are expected to inject liquidity into the local infrastructure ecosystem. According to officials, the release covers hundreds of pending invoices submitted over the past few months.

Leaders of the Builders’ Association of India (BAI) Telangana Chapter chairman U Surender and vice-chairman DVN Reddy thanked Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy and Deputy CM Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka for prioritising payments to small-scale contractors. “This decision has given timely relief to those struggling with cash flow issues. We appreciate the government’s commitment to the construction sector,” they said in a joint statement.
