Telangana Congress Hits Back at Prashant Kishor, Calls Him Political Broker
Telangana Congress leaders strongly rebuked Prashant Kishor after his comments against CM Revanth Reddy, accusing him of seeking attention ahead of Bihar polls.
Hyderabad: A war of words has erupted between Telangana Congress leaders and Jan Suraaj Party chief Prashant Kishor after he vowed to defeat chief minister A Revanth Reddy in the next elections.
State Congress leaders dismissed Kishor as a “political broker” and “a failed strategist turned politician,” arguing that he was using Revanth’s name only to remain relevant ahead of the Bihar polls. Party leaders, including MP Chamal Kiran Kumar Reddy, TPCC general secretary Chanagani Dayakar, and media cell head Sama Rammohan Reddy, accused him of arrogance and of assuming he alone understood politics better than anyone else.
Kishor’s criticism stems from a 2023 remark where Revanth contrasted himself with KCR by saying Telangana’s “DNA” was strong, unlike Bihar’s. Kishor turned this statement into a campaign point, alleging it was an insult to the people of Bihar. Telangana Congress leaders, however, said Kishor was simply exploiting regional sentiments for political mileage rather than focusing on building his own base.
They argued that Kishor, despite his reputation as a strategist, has failed to gain traction in Bihar and is now attempting to remain in headlines by dragging Revanth’s name into controversy. “Telangana represents self-respect and rebellion. Our people will never accept political brokers,” one leader remarked.
Analysis: Kishor’s statements may help him stir debate in Bihar, but in Telangana, the backlash shows how regional pride plays a powerful role in political narratives. For Congress, countering Kishor also provides a chance to rally support around Revanth and present him as a leader under attack from outsiders. Whether this clash will remain rhetoric or shape voter sentiment remains to be seen.
