Telangana CM seeks Centre’s nod for Hyderabad–Bandar Port greenfield highway
New Delhi: Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Tuesday urged Union Road Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari to approve a 12-lane greenfield highway linking Hyderabad’s Bharat Future City with Bandar Port via Amaravati. He highlighted that the project is crucial as Hyderabad lacks direct sea-port access.
Revanth also sought approvals for a 4-lane elevated corridor through the Amrabad Tiger Reserve on NH 765, and a greenfield stretch connecting Raviryala–Amangal–Mannanur. He requested clearances for the Regional Ring Road (RRR) south part and financial approvals to begin work on the north part, where 90% of land acquisition is complete.
Additionally, he pressed for declaring the Hyderabad–Mancherial greenfield road as a national highway and sought ₹868 crore under the Central Road Infrastructure Fund (CRIF).
Gadkari assured that a central team will visit Telangana to assess the proposals, with NHAI officials set to meet in Hyderabad on September 9.
