Revanth Reddy to Inspect Medigadda Barrage, Launch Rythu Bharosa Phase-2 Today
Telangana CM Revanth Reddy to visit Medigadda barrage, review Kaleshwaram project works, and release Rythu Bharosa funds amid BRS criticism.
Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy is scheduled to visit the Medigadda barrage of the Kaleshwaram project on April 20 to assess the condition of the structure and review ongoing works with irrigation officials.
During the visit, the Chief Minister will also offer prayers at the Sri Kaleshwara Mukteswara Swamy Temple and take part in foundation rituals linked to temple development. Later in the day, he is set to address a public gathering in Kataram mandal, where he will also roll out the second phase of the Rythu Bharosa financial assistance scheme.
The visit has drawn sharp reactions from the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), which alleged that the timing of the tour is politically motivated. The party claimed the programme coincides with a scheduled public meeting by K. Chandrashekar Rao in Jagtial, accusing the ruling government of attempting to divert attention.
BRS leaders have also raised concerns over delays in repair works at the barrage, while criticising the government for what they described as negative messaging around the Kaleshwaram project.
The development underscores how infrastructure inspections are increasingly intertwined with political narratives in Telangana. While official reviews are part of governance, their timing often shapes public perception especially when major political events occur simultaneously.
