Telangana CM Revanth Reddy accuses KCR of sidelining Dalit leadership and skipping Assembly proceedings, highlights inclusive representation under Congress.

Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy on Sunday launched a sharp political attack on BRS chief K. Chandrashekar Rao, alleging that his absence from Assembly proceedings reflects a disregard for leadership from marginalised communities.

Speaking during a session in the Assembly, Revanth Reddy claimed that repeated non-attendance by KCR signalled an unwillingness to engage under a Dalit Speaker. He further accused the BRS leadership of failing to accord due respect to socially disadvantaged sections during its tenure.

In contrast, the Chief Minister highlighted what he described as the Congress government’s focus on inclusive governance. He pointed to the appointment of leaders from Dalit, Adivasi and Lambada communities to key Cabinet roles, including Deputy Chief Minister and Finance Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, Health Minister Damodar Raja Narasimha, and others.

Revanth Reddy argued that representation at the top levels of government reflects a broader commitment to social equity, asserting that such inclusivity was lacking under the previous administration.

The exchange underscores how identity and representation continue to shape political discourse in Telangana. While such claims are part of political contestation, they also bring attention to the broader debate on equitable participation in governance and the symbolism attached to leadership positions.
