Telangana CM Revanth Reddy’s breakfast meeting with NDA leaders in Delhi triggers BRS criticism, raises questions over Congress’ stance against BJP.

A breakfast meeting in New Delhi attended by Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy alongside NDA leaders has sparked a fresh political controversy back home, with the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) questioning the Congress party’s political positioning.

The gathering, hosted by Union minister Bhupathiraju Srinivasa Varma, brought together MPs and leaders from Andhra Pradesh and Telangana across party lines. According to the host, the interaction was informal and part of routine outreach, with no specific political agenda. He added that Revanth Reddy was invited on a personal basis.

However, BRS leaders were quick to criticise the development. Senior leader T. Harish Rao alleged that the meeting exposed a contradiction in Congress’ stance towards the BJP, especially in the backdrop of recent parliamentary debates on delimitation and women’s reservation.

The BRS has been vocal in opposing the linkage between delimitation and women’s quota, arguing that it could delay implementation and affect southern states’ representation. The party used the Delhi meeting to reinforce its claim that political lines between national parties are increasingly blurred.

While the meeting itself was described as informal, its timing has amplified political interpretations. In today’s climate, even routine interactions can carry symbolic weight, particularly when they involve rival parties. For the public, such moments often fuel perceptions about alliances and political consistency, regardless of official explanations.
