Telangana CM Revanth Reddy accuses senior leader Jeevan Reddy of betraying Congress workers by aligning with BRS, vows to strengthen party in Jagitial.

Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy has launched a strong political attack on senior leader T. Jeevan Reddy, accusing him of undermining Congress cadre by aligning with the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS).

Speaking at a बैठक with party leaders from Jagitial, the Chief Minister said the move had hurt long-time Congress workers who had backed Jeevan Reddy for decades. He described it as “disappointing” to see a seasoned leader, once supported by the party, now standing alongside K. Chandrashekar Rao.

Revanth Reddy highlighted the opportunities extended to Jeevan Reddy over the years, including electoral tickets and political backing during key contests. Despite this, he alleged, the senior leader chose to part ways with the party at a crucial time.

The Chief Minister also warned against any attempts to destabilise the elected government, stating that safeguarding the mandate remains a priority. He announced plans to visit Jagitial to engage directly with party workers and reinforce organisational strength.

Separately, Minister Adluri Laxman Kumar criticised Jeevan Reddy, pointing to his long political journey within Congress and questioning his recent stance. He suggested that the criticism of the party was an attempt to shift focus from declining support.

The episode reflects ongoing churn within Telangana politics, where shifting loyalties continue to impact party dynamics at the grassroots level. For local workers, such developments often create uncertainty, making leadership clarity crucial ahead of future elections.
