Revanth Reddy Assures More Government Job Recruitments in Telangana
Telangana CM Revanth Reddy promises fresh government job notifications, targets youth concerns, and attacks BRS over recruitment failures.
Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on January 16 said the state government will soon announce additional government job recruitments, urging unemployed youth not to be misled by what he described as opposition-driven misinformation.
Addressing candidates selected through the Telangana State Public Service Commission (TGPSC) Group-3 examinations after distributing appointment letters in Hyderabad, the Chief Minister accused the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) of betraying job aspirants during its decade-long rule.
Revanth Reddy alleged that former Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao prioritised personal and party interests over public employment, leading to widespread frustration among youth. He claimed that this discontent ultimately played a role in the Congress coming to power in 2023.
The Chief Minister said the recruitment system was overhauled after the change in government, with credible individuals appointed to the TGPSC. He asserted that Group 1, 2 and 3 recruitments were conducted transparently, despite legal challenges, and alleged that competitive exams under the previous regime were marred by paper leaks. According to him, nearly 70,000 government jobs were filled within two years after revamping the commission.
Acknowledging protests and anxiety among aspirants at Osmania University and Ashok Nagar junction, Revanth Reddy assured that vacancies would continue to be notified in phases.
In a stern message to government employees, the Chief Minister warned of action against those neglecting their parents, stating that 10–15% of salaries could be directly credited to parents’ accounts in such cases. He also stressed the importance of skill development, saying lack of skills was limiting students’ ability to compete globally.
Reiterating the state’s long-term vision, Revanth Reddy said achieving a USD 3 trillion economy by 2047 would require committed public servants and a skilled workforce.
The announcement is likely to offer reassurance to thousands of job aspirants awaiting notifications, particularly in Hyderabad’s traditional protest hubs. By tying recruitment to transparency and accountability, the government is attempting to rebuild trust in public hiring systems. However, sustained follow-through on timelines will be crucial, as employment remains one of the most politically sensitive issues in Telangana.
