Prime Minister Narendra Modi hails Republic Day celebrations at Kartavya Path, highlighting national pride, cultural diversity, security strength and India–EU ties.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday said India marked Republic Day with a deep sense of enthusiasm, confidence and national pride, as the grand parade at Kartavya Path reflected the country’s democratic strength, cultural richness and collective unity.

Sharing messages and visuals on social media, the Prime Minister described the celebrations as a powerful expression of India’s identity, noting that the parade brought together tradition, technology and national resolve in a single spectacle.

Modi also highlighted India’s privilege in hosting António Costa and Ursula von der Leyen during the celebrations. He said their presence underlined the growing depth of the India–European Union partnership and reflected shared democratic values. According to the Prime Minister, the visit is expected to further energise cooperation between India and Europe across multiple sectors.

The Prime Minister said the parade prominently showcased India’s robust security apparatus, offering a glimpse into the preparedness, technological advancement and professionalism of the country’s armed and security forces. He described the forces as the pride of the nation and a symbol of India’s ability to safeguard its citizens.

Alongside military strength, Modi drew attention to the vibrant cultural display at Kartavya Path. Colourful tableaux and performances, he said, celebrated India’s diversity and highlighted the many traditions that together form the nation’s cultural mosaic.

This year’s Republic Day celebrations blended hard power and soft power, projecting India as a confident democracy rooted in heritage yet aligned with global partnerships. Beyond ceremony, the messaging reinforced India’s strategic outlook—strong at home, culturally inclusive, and increasingly engaged on the world stage.
