Goshamahal MLA T Raja Singh has written to Union Home Minister Amit Shah, seeking security cover for himself and his family, claiming he has been receiving repeated death threats.

In his letter, Singh alleged that the threats delivered through phone calls and letters have persisted for a long time and have now extended to members of his family. He stated that despite lodging multiple complaints with local police, no concrete action has been taken.

The MLA also called for a time-bound investigation to identify those responsible and demanded strict action against them. He claimed that earlier representations to the Union Home Ministry had only resulted in acknowledgements without follow-up measures.

Expressing frustration, Singh warned that continued inaction could have serious consequences and urged authorities to intervene immediately to ensure his family’s safety.

Separately, Singh had earlier declined police protection for an upcoming Ram Navami procession, citing past experiences during similar events.

The issue highlights ongoing concerns around security for public representatives and the responsiveness of law enforcement. Ensuring timely action on threat complaints is crucial not only for individual safety but also for maintaining public confidence in policing systems.
