Raja Singh Pressures Telangana Govt After Hyderabad Doctor’s Arrest in Alleged Ricin Plot
MLA Raja Singh demands clarity from CM Revanth Reddy after a Hyderabad doctor is arrested by Gujarat ATS in an alleged Ricin terror conspiracy.
Goshamahal MLA Raja Singh has sharply criticised the Telangana government, demanding clear answers from Chief Minister Revanth Reddy after Hyderabad doctor Ahmed Mohiyuddin Saiyed was arrested by the Gujarat Anti-Terrorist Squad in a suspected Ricin conspiracy. The ATS searched Saiyed’s Rajendranagar residence on November 11 as part of a wider probe into an alleged chemical-based terror plot.
Investigators have seized pistols, cartridges and castor oil from the accused trio picked up earlier near Gandhinagar. Forensic teams are now examining chemical samples recovered from Saiyed’s home. Officials have clarified that no evidence links him to doctors arrested in the recent Delhi blast case, nor was any incriminating material found at the homes of the other two accused in Uttar Pradesh.
Saiyed, who holds a foreign medical degree, is alleged to have begun preparing Ricin a highly toxic substance derived from castor beans by gathering equipment and materials.
Raja Singh escalated his criticism, questioning the suspected intent behind the alleged plot and alleging a recurring pattern of Hyderabad figures appearing in terror-related probes. He also attacked the chief minister and the state DGP for remaining silent, arguing that the public deserves clarity on the threat and the scope of the investigation.
Analysis:
The incident has pushed public safety back into political focus, with opposition voices using the case to question the state’s vigilance. At the same time, the dependence on inter-state coordination with Gujarat ATS leading the probe highlights how terror investigations often operate beyond state boundaries. For residents, timely communication from the government could help ease anxieties as the investigation unfolds.
