After BJP’s poor show in the Jubilee Hills bypoll, MLA Raja Singh accuses senior leaders of undermining the party and failing to counter Congress tactics.

Goshamahal MLA T Raja Singh has launched a sharp attack on senior BJP leaders, alleging that internal sabotage contributed to the party’s weak performance in the Jubilee Hills by-election. In a video message released Friday, Singh claimed that a section of the leadership was working to erode the party’s strength in Telangana for personal advantage.

He accused the Congress of resorting to booth capturing and cash distribution during the poll and said the BJP’s state unit failed to put up a meaningful fight. Singh, who quit the party in July over the appointment of N Ramchander Rao as state chief, reiterated that the efforts of committed cadre were being sidelined by a few influential leaders.

Calling the bypoll outcome a symptom of a deeper organisational crisis, he questioned who would take responsibility for the party’s decline. Singh warned that with local body and GHMC elections approaching, the absence of strategy and coordination was demoralising workers.

Despite his resignation, he described the BJP as “still my party” and urged Union Ministers G. Kishan Reddy and Bandi Sanjay, along with Rajya Sabha MP K. Laxman, to intervene and restore order in the Telangana unit.

Analysis: Singh’s comments highlight the internal fractures within the BJP’s Telangana leadership, a challenge that could hinder the party as it tries to regain momentum. For grassroots workers, his remarks may resonate, especially as the party braces for upcoming civic polls. Strategically, this infighting risks giving rivals an even greater edge unless the central leadership steps in to repair the organisational drift.
