Rahul Gandhi visits Hyderabad on March 2, to attend a DCC training camp in Vikarabad and hold talks with CM Revanth Reddy on Rajya Sabha polls.

Senior Congress leader and Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, is scheduled to land in Hyderabad on March 2, marking a politically significant visit ahead of key electoral decisions in Telangana.

He is expected to arrive at the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport around 9:40 am, where Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy and other party leaders will receive him. From Hyderabad, Gandhi will travel to Vikarabad to attend the concluding session of a 10-day training programme for newly appointed District Congress Committee (DCC) presidents from Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.

The visit also comes at a crucial time, with Rajya Sabha elections in Telangana slated for March 16. Party leaders are likely to deliberate on candidate finalisation, with nominations closing on March 5. A panel of potential names is expected to be discussed during internal consultations.

Beyond organisational matters, the meeting may also touch upon development initiatives planned ahead of Telangana Formation Day on June 2. There is speculation in party circles that Gandhi could interact with select leaders and stakeholders during his stay.

The timing of the visit underscores Congress’s focus on strengthening grassroots leadership while navigating upcoming electoral challenges. With Rajya Sabha nominations imminent, strategic clarity in the coming days could shape the party’s positioning in the state.
