Metro Expansion Row Kishan Reddy Slams CM Revanth, Politics Stalls Hyderabad Growth
Union Minister Kishan Reddy denies blocking Hyderabad Metro expansion, slams CM Revanth Reddy’s allegations as baseless, while politics overshadows development.
Metro Dispute Turns Political
The Hyderabad Metro Phase-2 project has sparked a sharp exchange between CM Revanth Reddy and Union Minister G. Kishan Reddy. While the chief minister accused the Centre of blocking approvals, Kishan Reddy dismissed the charge as “baseless,” insisting no files were pending in Delhi. He blamed the state for failing to finalize terms with L&T before submitting a proposal.
The Union minister also attacked both Revanth and BRS leader K.T. Rama Rao, accusing them of spreading “BJP-phobia.” On KTR’s call for a Nepal-style uprising, he warned such rhetoric was “dangerous to democracy.”
Kishan Reddy confirmed that a CBI probe into the Kaleshwaram project is ongoing and reiterated BJP’s stand on 42% BC reservations, though final approval rests with constitutional authorities.
Analysts note that this blame game only delays Hyderabad’s infrastructure growth. For citizens, smoother commutes matter more than political mudslinging, but leaders on both sides appear more focused on scoring points than solving problems.
