BRS leader K.T. Rama Rao visits families displaced by HYDRAA demolitions in Hyderabad’s Madhapur, condemns Congress for forced evictions and promises justice for affected residents.

Hyderabad: Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) working president K.T. Rama Rao on Monday reached Madhapur’s Sunnam Cheruvu locality to meet residents whose homes were demolished under the HYDRAA project. The visit, marked by festive gestures and sharp political remarks, brought attention to the plight of several families left without shelter.

KTR interacted with members of the local Co-operative Housing Society, discussing long-standing concerns over land ownership and compensation. He also joined the affected community in celebrating Deepavali, a symbolic show of solidarity amid distress.

Accusing the Congress government of “inhumane governance,” KTR said that many poor and middle-class families were uprooted from the area without fair notice or rehabilitation. “Entire families who built their lives here were thrown out overnight. The Congress has failed Hyderabad’s people,” he said, adding that a return of the KCR-led government would “restore development and dignity” to the displaced.

The BRS leader was accompanied by party figures including former minister G. Jagadish Reddy, MLC Shambipur Raju, and MLAs Madhavaram Krishna Rao and Palla Rajeshwar Reddy.

Analysis: The HYDRAA demolitions have triggered growing concern about urban development’s human cost in Hyderabad’s IT corridor. Experts note that while infrastructure expansion is crucial, governments must prioritize transparent rehabilitation measures. For displaced residents, KTR’s visit offered hope—but real relief will depend on long-term policy follow-through rather than political promises.
