KTR Says Telangana Will Reject Congress in 2028, Slams Revanth Reddy’s Remarks
BRS leader KTR hits out at Telangana CM Revanth Reddy, predicting Congress’ defeat in 2028 and accusing the government of failing on water rights.
Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) working president K. T. Rama Rao on Wednesday launched a fierce attack on Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, asserting that the people of the state will decisively defeat the Congress in the 2028 elections.
Reacting to comments made by Revanth Reddy against former chief minister K. Chandrashekar Rao, KTR accused the Congress leader of using personal attacks to divert attention from unresolved issues, particularly Telangana’s river water rights. He alleged that the chief minister lacked both competence and commitment to safeguard the state’s interests.
In a strongly worded post on social media, KTR said voters were closely watching the Congress government’s conduct and would respond at the ballot box. He claimed the chief minister’s aggressive language stemmed from an inability to answer questions on irrigation projects and water-sharing concerns.
The sharp exchange reflects the deepening political polarisation in Telangana as parties begin positioning themselves for the next Assembly polls. While the rhetoric is escalating, governance issues such as irrigation, water security and development outcomes are likely to remain central to voter judgment in the coming years.
Senior BRS leader T. Harish Rao also weighed in, criticising what he described as the Congress leadership’s “politics of abuse.” He said personal attacks replace policy debate when governments run out of answers, adding that such behaviour would not be forgotten by the electorate.
