KTR Says Congress Has Pushed Palamuru Back Into Distress,
BRS leader KTR accuses the Telangana Congress government of reversing development in Palamuru and alleges farmer distress over stalled projects and fertiliser shortages.
The working president of the Bharat Rashtra Samithi, K. T. Rama Rao, on Sunday accused the Telangana Congress government of undoing development gains in the Palamuru region, alleging that stalled projects have pushed the district back into distress and renewed migration. He claimed that even after two years in office, the present administration has failed to complete a significant share of promised works.
Speaking at a gathering of newly elected sarpanches in Nagar Kurnool, KTR said irrigation and infrastructure initiatives launched during the previous BRS government were not carried forward. Referring to the tenure of former chief minister K. Chandrashekar Rao, he asserted that Palamuru had witnessed prosperity and green cover under BRS rule, while alleging that current leadership had stalled momentum. He also reiterated that KCR would soon visit the region and step up efforts to protect the Palamuru–Rangareddy irrigation project.
KTR further alleged growing distress among farmers, claiming that they are being forced to wait in long queues for urea fertiliser even during cold weather. He accused Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy of neglecting agricultural needs and alleged an informal understanding between the Congress and BJP in the state.
Analysis: Palamuru remains politically sensitive due to its dependence on irrigation-led growth. Persistent claims of delays and farmer distress could sharpen regional discontent if project timelines and input supplies are not addressed transparently
