Hyderabad: BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao on Monday accused the Congress government of awarding the Musi Rejuvenation Project and Godavari Phases II & III works to a company blacklisted by the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI).

Calling the project a “loot in instalments,” KTR claimed the firm, earlier penalised over faulty work on NH-66 in Kerala, had also built the Sunkisala Project, whose retaining wall later collapsed.

He further alleged that the cost of the Godavari project had escalated from ₹1,100 crore to ₹7,400 crore, questioning whether it was being done to fund the Congress leadership in Delhi.
