After parting ways with BRS, K Kavitha revamps Telangana Jagruthi’s state committee, stressing social justice and planning a statewide outreach tour.

Hyderabad: K Kavitha, suspended BRS leader and former MLC, has begun charting her own course by reconstituting the Telangana Jagruthi state committee. On Dusshera, she announced new appointments, naming ST leader Lakavat Roop Singh as Working President.

Kavitha emphasized that the fresh leadership reflects a commitment to social justice, with over 80 percent of posts reserved for representatives from backward and marginalized groups. Women leaders were also given key district roles, signaling an effort to build a more inclusive organizational structure.

The timing is significant. Weeks after her suspension from BRS following a public spat with senior leaders, Kavitha is visibly consolidating her political base. Instead of launching a new party, she appears to be strengthening Telangana Jagruthi, the cultural and social platform she founded during the statehood movement.

She also announced plans for a statewide tour to connect with intellectuals, poets, activists, and experts, aiming to incorporate grassroots feedback before unveiling the final phase of the committee.

Analysts say Kavitha’s latest move could reshape Telangana’s opposition landscape. By centering her efforts on social justice and cultural outreach, she may appeal to communities often left at the margins of mainstream politics. For observers, this could be an early signal of her testing the waters for a bigger political comeback.
