Former BRS MLC K. Kavitha hits out at party leaders after suspension, accusing them of creating distance with her family and restricting her visits to Siddipet and Chintamadaka.

Hyderabad: Former BRS leader and Telangana Jagruthi president K. Kavitha has launched a sharp attack on her own party colleagues, vowing not to forgive those who, she alleges, distanced her from her family and the party.

Speaking emotionally at the Bathukamma celebrations in Chintamadaka, the hometown of her father and former Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao, Kavitha said she felt like she was being treated as an outsider in her own village.

Without naming him directly, she targeted her cousin Harish Rao, saying Chintamadaka was not “someone’s private property” and that she would continue to visit if restrictions were imposed. “From 2004 till today, there have been restrictions on my visits to Siddipet and Chintamadaka,” she alleged.

Kavitha, who resigned from BRS and her MLC post on September 3 after being suspended by her father KCR, accused her cousins Harish Rao and Santosh Kumar of conspiring against her and dragging her name into the Kaleshwaram project corruption controversy.

Her speech also hinted at a larger battle within the BRS, as she linked her suspension to “conspiracies” aimed at sidelining her. “I was maligned for speaking about my parents’ well-being,” she said, while thanking locals for inviting her and hinting that Chintamadaka could become her ‘karmabhoomi’ if people supported her.

Political observers believe Kavitha’s statements mark the beginning of a deepening family rift within the BRS, one that could weaken the party’s hold in Siddipet ahead of future elections.
