Telangana Jagruthi chief K Kavitha launches sharp attack on cousin J Santosh Rao, alleging he acted as an informer against KCR amid phone-tapping probe.

In a fresh flare-up within the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) camp, K Kavitha on Monday mounted a scathing attack on her cousin J Santosh Rao, accusing him of secretly feeding information to Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy.

Speaking to reporters in Hyderabad, Kavitha alleged that Santosh Rao functioned as a key “informer” against her father, former chief minister K Chandrashekar Rao, and claimed he routinely shared even personal details about KCR with the current Congress leadership. Her remarks came shortly after Santosh Rao was summoned by the Special Investigation Team (SIT) in the ongoing phone-tapping probe linked to the previous BRS government.

Kavitha further accused her cousin of deliberately cutting KCR off from Telangana movement veterans, families of martyrs and grassroots supporters, alleging that this internal isolation weakened the party from within. She also linked him to controversial episodes from the past, including senior leaders drifting away from the BRS, suggesting a pattern of internal sabotage.

Raising questions about the investigation, Kavitha claimed Santosh Rao could be shielded by the present government because of his alleged cooperation with it. Referring to earlier comments she had made about betrayal within the party, she described him as the foremost among those she believes undermined KCR’s leadership.

The sharp exchange underscores deepening fractures within the extended KCR family and the wider BRS ecosystem. As the phone-tapping investigation progresses, personal accusations are increasingly spilling into the public domain, complicating both the party’s revival efforts and its internal cohesion. For political observers, the episode highlights how legal probes are accelerating old rivalries into open political warfare.
