Jagan Accuses CM Chandrababu Naidu of Dismantling ‘Arogyasri’

Amaravati: YSRCP chief and former CM YS Jagan Mohan Reddy on Friday accused Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu of weakening the state’s free healthcare scheme ‘Arogyasri’ and privatising government medical colleges.
Jagan said that while Andhra Pradesh had only 11 government medical colleges till 2019, the YSRCP sanctioned 17 new colleges during its tenure, with five already operational. He alleged the coalition government stalled their progress and blocked approvals.
He further claimed that dues of nearly ₹4,000 crore remain unpaid to network hospitals under Arogyasri, and key benefits like “Arogyasri Aasara” were stopped. Jagan warned that shifting to private insurance would burden people and benefit cronies, calling it “another scam in the making.”
