Telangana’s push to expand its industrial footprint gathered pace as IT and Industries Minister Duddilla Sridhar Babu announced that the Kondapur Industrial Park in Medak district is ready for rollout. Projects worth nearly ₹1,000 crore have been developed at the site, with a large share of units prepared to commence operations.
Addressing members of the Kondapur Industrialists’ Association in Hyderabad, the minister said 36 units have completed construction out of the 64 proposed for the industrial township. Once operational, these facilities are expected to create close to 5,000 direct jobs, offering fresh employment avenues for local youth and skilled workers in the region.
To ensure a smooth launch, Sridhar Babu instructed officials to clear pending power-related issues within a month and expedite the completion of the approach road linking the park to the national highway. Representatives of the industrialists’ association raised infrastructure and utility concerns, to which the minister assured swift government intervention. Senior officials, including Telangana State Industrial Infrastructure Corporation leadership, were present at the meeting.
Analysis: With manufacturing-led job creation emerging as a priority, Kondapur’s timely commissioning could strengthen Medak’s local economy. However, consistent infrastructure support will be critical to convert readiness into sustained industrial output
