BRS chief and Leader of the Opposition K. Chandrashekar Rao is likely to attend the Telangana Assembly session, marking his first appearance since the 2023 defeat.

After a prolonged absence from the House, K. Chandrashekar Rao, president of the Bharat Rashtra Samithi and Leader of the Opposition, is expected to attend the opening day of the Winter Session of the Telangana Legislative Assembly on Monday, December 29, 2025, according to party indications.

If confirmed, the visit would mark Rao’s first appearance in the Assembly since the BRS lost power in the 2023 state elections. Since that defeat, KCR has maintained a low profile within the legislature, a period during which the party also faced electoral reverses in subsequent parliamentary and bypoll contests.

Analysis: KCR’s possible presence is likely to sharpen the tone of the session, particularly with major policy and governance issues on the agenda. For the opposition, it could signal an attempt to reassert leadership and visibility on the Assembly floor
