Hyderabad: Khairatabad MLA and former minister Danam Nagender dismissed speculation that he would contest the upcoming Jubilee Hills by-election. He said the Congress high command will decide on the candidate and assured full support to whoever is nominated.

Nagender, who distributed Kalyana Lakshmi, Shaadi Mubarak, and CM Relief Fund cheques at New MLA Quarters, stressed that winning Jubilee Hills is crucial for Congress in the current political climate.

The former BRS leader joined Congress in March 2024 and contested unsuccessfully from Secunderabad in the Lok Sabha polls.

Meanwhile, Hyderabad DEO RV Karnan has appointed 14 nodal officers for poll management. The updated voter list for Jubilee Hills (3.92 lakh voters) will be published on September 2, with the final rolls out on September 30.
