BRS leader Harish Rao slams Congress government for not launching TIMS hospital despite earlier promise. Demands clarity from CM Revanth Reddy on timeline.

Former finance minister and BRS senior leader T Harish Rao has sharply criticised the Congress government, alleging failure to fulfil its assurance of inaugurating the TIMS hospital at Sanathnagar within a month. According to him, more than four weeks have passed since Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy announced the commitment during the Jubilee Hills by-election, yet the project remains at a standstill.

In a strongly worded statement, Harish Rao claimed that the government appears more focused on liquidating state lands rather than prioritising public healthcare. He said that while ministers often make high-profile promises, “their words rarely translate into action,” citing the status of the TIMS project as an example.

He further added that the Telangana Institute of Medical Sciences projects progressed rapidly during the BRS tenure but had slowed considerably since the Congress took charge. Alleging deliberate delay, he suggested that the chief minister hesitates to expedite the project to avoid political credit going to former CM KCR.

Harish Rao demanded that the government issue a clear timeline for the hospital inauguration and resume full-scale construction immediately.

Analysis:The remarks underscore growing political tension over healthcare infrastructure, especially at a time when public expectations from government hospitals are increasing. A prompt update from the administration on project timelines may help ease concerns. Transparency and faster execution could also improve public trust, especially before future electoral cycles.
