Congress MP Chamala Kiran Kumar Reddy criticises Union Minister Bandi Sanjay, says BJP’s Hindutva politics failed in Telangana municipal polls and urges focus on Central funds.

Congress MP Chamala Kiran Kumar Reddy on Tuesday sharpened his attack on Union Minister Bandi Sanjay Kumar, accusing him of prioritising “Hindutva politics” over Telangana’s development needs.

Speaking to the media, the MP argued that attempts to mobilise voters along religious lines had not translated into electoral success for the BJP in the state. Citing the recent municipal polls, he claimed the party’s limited victories reflected public rejection of divisive strategies.

Kiran Kumar Reddy also defended Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy against criticism over his visits to New Delhi. He said the meetings were focused on obtaining project approvals and securing Central allocations crucial for Telangana’s growth.

In a broader swipe, the Congress leader alleged that BRS figures, including K.T. Rama Rao, were echoing BJP’s criticism of the state government. He urged political rivals to shift attention from personal attacks to issues directly impacting welfare and infrastructure.

The exchange signals intensifying political sparring in Telangana, with development funding and identity politics emerging as key talking points ahead of future electoral contests.
