Cyberabad Traffic Police advise IT and corporate firms to adopt work-from-home on Friday to ease congestion and protect employees during heavy rainfall in Hyderabad.

Persistent overnight showers and the forecast of more rain today prompted Cyberabad Traffic Police to issue a rare advisory. IT companies and corporate offices in the city’s busy corridor were asked to allow employees to work from home, a step aimed at minimizing road congestion and ensuring emergency vehicles move freely.

Joint Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Gajarao Bhupal emphasized that the decision was based on safety concerns and the need to prevent traffic chaos during peak hours.

For thousands of tech workers, this advisory offers both relief and caution: relief from long commutes in waterlogged conditions, and a reminder that Hyderabad’s infrastructure struggles to cope with sudden downpours. Companies cooperating with such advisories not only protect their staff but also help the city function more smoothly in times of crisis.
