Hyderabad Gets India's First Google for Startups Hub as CM Pushes Unicorn Ambition

Hyderabad added a major milestone to its innovation landscape as Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, joined by IT Minister D. Sridhar Babu, inaugurated the country’s first Google for Startups (GfS) Hub at T-Hub. The initiative marks a strategic push to turn Telangana into a powerhouse for product-driven and IP-led companies.

Addressing founders, the Chief Minister set an ambitious goal: 100 Hyderabad-based startups should scale into unicorns by 2034. He urged entrepreneurs to tap into the government’s soon-to-be-launched ₹1,000 crore Startup Fund of Funds, designed to support emerging deep-tech and AI-first ventures.

Reddy said the GfS Hub will enhance the startup ecosystem by offering mentorship, global investor access, and high-quality coworking infrastructure. He framed the move as a key step toward Telangana’s economic roadmap—driving the state toward a $1 trillion economy by 2034 and $3 trillion by 2047 under the Telangana Rising vision.

Senior officials including Special Secretary to the CM B. Ajith Reddy, Special Chief Secretary Sanjay Kumar, Deputy Secretary Bhavesh Mishra, and leaders from Google and T-Hub were present at the launch.

Hyderabad’s startup ecosystem has long been recognized for its strong incubators, talent pool, and global corporate presence. Housing India’s first Google for Startups Hub strengthens its position at a time when states are competing aggressively for tech-driven economic growth. The government’s unicorn-focused narrative could energize founders but will require sustained funding access, policy stability, and deep-tech infrastructure to turn ambition into reality.
