CM Revanth Reddy Inaugurates BioAsia 2026, Unveils Hyderabad’s Global Life Sciences Vision
Telangana CM Revanth Reddy launched BioAsia 2026 in Hyderabad, highlighting ₹73,000 crore investments, a new life sciences policy and ambitious growth targets for the sector.
Hyderabad reaffirmed its position in the global biotech landscape as Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy formally opened BioAsia 2026, a two-day gathering that has completed 23 years in the city. The summit, themed “TechBio Unleashed: AI, Automation & the Biology Revolution,” brings together leaders from pharmaceuticals, biotechnology and digital health.
Addressing delegates, the Chief Minister cited ₹73,000 crore in fresh investments attracted to the sector and outlined the state’s Next-Gen Life Sciences Policy aimed at accelerating research, manufacturing and innovation. He reiterated the government’s ambition to position Hyderabad as a global “Life Sciences Capital,” aligning with the broader target of contributing to a $1 trillion economy by 2034.
Industry announcements added momentum to the event. Commitments included Opella’s expansion of its Global Capability Centre and Vaksindo’s plans to establish a vaccine production facility. Telangana IT and Industries Minister D. Sridhar Babu projected that the state could draw $25 billion in investments and generate up to 500,000 jobs by 2030, particularly in emerging fields such as mRNA platforms and AI-led drug discovery.
Over the years, BioAsia has evolved into one of Asia’s prominent life sciences forums, serving as a bridge between policymakers, scientists and investors.
For Hyderabad, the stakes are high. Sustaining investor confidence will require not just policy announcements but also infrastructure readiness and talent development. If executed effectively, the convergence of artificial intelligence and biotechnology could redefine the city’s economic trajectory in the coming decade.
