Traffic diversions announced in Banjara Hills as pillar work for the H-CITI steel flyover and underpass begins on February 27. Check alternate routes and peak-hour advisory.

Motorists in Hyderabad are set to face fresh traffic curbs as construction of pillars for a proposed steel flyover and underpass under the H-CITI project begins on February 27 in Banjara Hills.

The works will affect key stretches between Mugda Junction, KBR Park Entrance (Gate-I) and Jubilee Hills Check Post, with Road No. 2 emerging as the most impacted corridor. Authorities have advised commuters to chart alternative routes in advance to avoid congestion.

Vehicles travelling from NFCL towards Srinagar Colony, Sagar Society, KBR Park, Jubilee Hills Check Post and beyond will be diverted at Srinagar Colony T-Junction and Sagar Society. Motorists are advised to move via Srinagar Colony Main Road, Indiranagar Labour Adda, Road No. 5 Jubilee Hills and Venkatagiri Crossroads before rejoining at Jubilee Hills Check Post.

Similarly, traffic from Jubilee Hills Road Nos. 36, 4 and 5 heading towards NFCL will be rerouted through Jubilee Hills Check Post, Venkatagiri, Yousufguda Basti, Maitrivanam and Ameerpet before reaching Panjagutta.

Those commuting from Banjara Hills Road No. 1 or KCP towards Jubilee Hills are advised to take Road No. 10 via Cancer Hospital, proceed through Agrasen Island and connect to Road No. 45. Motorists from Masab Tank can take a diversion at Virinchi Hospital and follow the same stretch.

Peak-hour travel between 8:30 am–11:00 am and 5:00 pm–9:00 pm is best avoided, officials said. Commuters are encouraged to track updates on Hyderabad Traffic Police social media handles or call the traffic helpline at 9010203626 during emergencies.

With infrastructure upgrades underway, short-term inconvenience appears inevitable. Planning departures earlier than usual and opting for public transport where possible could ease pressure on already busy junctions.
