Bajrang Dal Protest After Raja Singh’s Detention; RTC Bus Damaged in Medak
Bajrang Dal workers staged a protest in Medak after MLA T Raja Singh was detained en route to Banswada, damaging a TGSRTC bus amid rising tensions.
Tension flared in Medak district on Sunday after Bajrang Dal workers staged a protest against the preventive detention of Goshamahal MLA T Raja Singh.
Singh was stopped by police at Shankarampet while travelling to Banswada in Kamareddy district, which recently witnessed communal clashes. Officers shifted him to a local police station, citing law and order concerns.
Soon after the detention, Bajrang Dal members assembled in large numbers and blocked the main road in protest. During the agitation, the windshield of a TGSRTC bus was damaged, triggering a traffic disruption in the area. Police later dispersed the protesters and restored vehicular movement. A case has been registered against those involved in vandalising the bus.
The developments come days after communal tensions erupted in Banswada following a dispute reportedly linked to music being played at a shop. The altercation escalated into stone-pelting between two groups, leaving several injured and causing damage to small businesses.
With security heightened in the region, authorities appear focused on preventing further escalation, even as political reactions continue to intensify.
